Whisk together first 7 ingredients. In a glass pan, marinate salmon steaks with half of the marinade. Reserve the rest for the salad dressing.
Cook bacon pieces until browned. Remove to paper towek lined plate. Set aside.
Remove all but 1 Tbsp bacon fat from pan with paper toweling, discard.
In remaining bacon drippings, cook salmon skin side down for 3 minutes on medium heat. Flip and cook another 3 minutes. Remove to paper toweling. Once cool, remove skin and break into 1 inch pieces.
Seed and cut avocado into slices. Drizzle with lime juice and season to taste with salt and pepper.
Begin buildng your salad with lettuce, tomato, red onion, red pepper, jalapeno, & avocado. Place broken salmon pieces on salad. Top with shredded cheese and bacon bits. Drizzle with remaining marinade/dressing.
