When I was growing up, my family didn’t really take many photos. It always seemed that whenever we needed to take a photo, the camera was lost, the film was exhausted or the batteries were dead in the unit. It wasn’t until I met Dennis that I experienced having an SLR (single lens reflex) camera. That’s when I got hooked! We started our photography journey with a film camera and took lots and lots of pictures (It was easy when there was a new baby in the house!). With Dennis’ love of technology and all things nerdy, we quickly decided to invest in a digital model!
Over the years, my experience has evolved into studio photography and some portrait work. My favorite muses were and always will be my own children. I have taken a few photography courses and participated in some entertaining photo challenges with my friends. All of those opportunities helped me continue my love of the art.
In a quest for positive personal growth, I’ve decided to sign up for a weekly photography course called, A Year with my Camera. This course will gradually re-introduce me to basic camera skills that seem to evade me since I’ve stopped taking pictures. I hope to improve the quality of my images and learn some tips and tricks that will aid me in shooting photos for the blog.
Are any of you fellow photographers who would like to do a weekly photo challenge? What do you like to take pictures of?
I remember the picture of Sarah. I am glad you took pictures because I was lousy at it.
