To those of you that follow us on our other social media accounts, you already know that we recently got a new family member. Meet our new blog mascot, Luxie. She is an English Springer Spaniel. Her registered name is Lady Smokey Deluxe. We already have an Instagram account for her so that those that want to see more puppy shenanigans can follow us there – @lil.lady.luxie
Today was our first opportunity to see if Luxie likes hiking. We wanted to try something easy just to see how she would do. We headed out to Theodore A. Parker III Nature Area. See our post “On The Other Bank” to learn more about the trail. We wondered if she would like it or if we would end up carrying a tired puppy part of the way. Happy to say she had a blast. She really enjoyed being in the woods and followed commands well. Mom even let her get wet (that was a big no-no with Cocoa, our previous cherished springer that we had during our childrens’ rearing). Luxie has taken a likening to Mom but when we hike, she would boomerang back and forth to make sure we both were okay. For such a young pup, I have to say… “I think we got a keeper!”
